What it is, and where it comes from
Ginepraia gives its name to the winery's flagship line and is the red wine from which one begins to understand how this winery thinks. IGT Toscana, from the hills between Crespina Lorenzana and Fauglia.
Hand-harvested, grape selection in the vineyard, minimal intervention in the cellar: fermentation temperature and skin contact time are controlled, and the rest is left to happen naturally. From this same grape, when the vintage allows, a separate selection from Barrel No. 7 is also produced.

Who makes it, and where
Fattoria Uccelliera, in Crespina Lorenzana.
Made on the Pisan hills.
Two hundred and forty hectares between Crespina Lorenzana and Fauglia, twenty-one of them vineyard and olive grove.
“Uccelliera” is a medieval place name: it marked the hill where an old bird-catching stand once stood, a set-up for taking migrating birds. Today that same piece of hill does the opposite, and the arable land is farmed with the wildlife that passes through in mind.
