Cookie policy
This Cookie Policy describes how the Tuscany Market Hub marketplace (hereinafter, the "Marketplace") uses cookies and similar technologies, in accordance with the Italian Data Protection Authority's Provision of 10 June 2021 ("Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools") and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR").
This Cookie Policy supplements and forms an integral part of the Marketplace's privacy policy. For information regarding the processing of personal data, please refer to the Privacy policy page.
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that websites visited by the user send to their device (computer, tablet, smartphone), where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same sites on subsequent visits. Technologies similar to cookies (such as pixel tags, web beacons, device identifiers, local storage) enable similar functions and are treated as cookies for the purposes of this policy.
Cookies can be classified according to different criteria:
- By duration: session cookies (deleted when the browser is closed) and persistent cookies (with a predefined duration);
- By installer: first-party cookies (installed directly by the Marketplace) and third-party cookies (installed by parties other than the data controller);
- By purpose: technical cookies (necessary for operation) and non-technical cookies (analytical, profiling, advertising).
2. Types of cookies used by the Marketplace
2.1 Technical cookies
The Marketplace uses technical cookies, which are necessary to ensure its proper functioning, navigation, shopping cart and checkout management, registered user authentication, storage of technical preferences (e.g., language, currency), and cybersecurity. Technical cookies are essential for purchasing operations and cannot be disabled without compromising the Marketplace's functionality. These cookies do not require the user's prior consent, pursuant to Article 122, paragraph 1, of Legislative Decree 196/2003.
2.2 Functional cookies
The Marketplace may use functional cookies to store choices made by the user in order to improve the browsing experience (e.g., display preferences, recent search filters, recently viewed products). Such cookies are installed only with the user's prior consent.
2.3 Analytical cookies
The Marketplace may use analytical cookies to collect aggregated statistical information on Marketplace usage (number of visitors, most visited pages, purchase paths, technical performance). First-party analytical cookies and adequately anonymized third-party analytical cookies do not require consent, in accordance with the Garante's guidelines. Non-anonymized third-party analytical cookies are used only with the user's prior consent.
2.4 Third-party cookies
As of the last update of this policy, the Marketplace does not embed third-party content: there are no embedded videos, no embedded geographic maps, no social network widgets, and no third-party analytics or advertising tools. All resources loaded by the Marketplace pages (scripts, style sheets, images, fonts) come from the technical domains of Shopify, the e-commerce platform provider, which acts as data processor on behalf of the data controller: these include cdn.shopify.com, fonts.shopifycdn.com, monorail-edge.shopifysvc.com and shop.app.
Some pages contain hyperlinks to external sites (for example the location of a market on Google Maps, or the websites of the project partners). Such links merely refer the user to the destination site and do not install cookies on the Marketplace: any cookies used by the destination sites are governed by their respective policies, to which reference is made.
Should embedded third-party content be introduced in the future, its installation will occur only with the user's prior consent, except for content strictly necessary for the functioning of the requested feature, and this policy will be updated accordingly.
2.5 Profiling cookies
The Marketplace does not use profiling cookies for behavioral marketing purposes based on systematic tracking of user browsing activity.

The cookies _shopify_s, _shopify_y, _shopify_analytics and _shopify_marketing are placed by the platform from the first page visited, before the user expresses a choice on the banner; the actual use of the data collected for statistical and marketing purposes remains subject to the consent given through the banner. The platform's statistics script may also install, on the browser side and only where consent is present, the cookies _shopify_sa_t and _shopify_sa_p, relating to the source of the visit: their installation cannot be verified without executing the JavaScript code and has therefore not been measured directly.
4. Consent management
Upon first accessing the Marketplace, a banner ("cookie banner") is presented to the user, allowing them to:
- accept all cookies;
- reject all non-strictly necessary cookies;
- customize preferences, choosing which cookies to accept and which to reject by category.
The "accept" and "reject" options are presented with equal graphical prominence. Closing the banner without making a choice, scrolling the page, or continuing navigation are not considered equivalent to consent, according to the Garante's Guidelines.
The user's choice is retained for a period not exceeding 12 months, after which the banner will be presented again. The user may modify or withdraw the consent already given at any time through the "Cookie preferences" link, located at the bottom of every page of the Marketplace, which reopens the preferences panel and allows a new choice to be made by category. Alternatively, the user may: (i) delete the Marketplace cookies from their browser settings, following the instructions given in section 5 below, so that on the next visit the banner is presented again and the choice can be expressed anew; or (ii) send a request to the data controller's contact details indicated on the Contacts page.
5. Disabling cookies via browser
In addition to the consent management methods provided by the Marketplace, the user can disable cookies directly from their browser settings. Instructions for managing cookies in major browsers are available at the following references:
- Google Chrome: support.google.com/chrome
- Mozilla Firefox: support.mozilla.org
- Apple Safari: support.apple.com
- Microsoft Edge: support.microsoft.com
Please note that disabling technical cookies may compromise the proper functioning of the Marketplace, particularly the shopping cart, checkout, and user account management functionalities.
6. Data Controller
The data controller for data collected via cookies is the Federazione Italiana Ambulanti (FIA). Updated contact details for privacy inquiries and any communication regarding the processing of personal data are published on the Contacts page. For further information on the processing carried out and the data subject's rights, please refer entirely to the privacy policy.
7. Changes to this Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy may be updated, also as a result of the introduction of new cookies on the Marketplace, technological evolutions, or regulatory changes. The current version is always published on the Marketplace on the Cookie policy page, with an indication of the last update date.
