Designed, built and finished inside the workshop, in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa.
The piece
Continuous reeding means the drawers have to be worked in place and then never swapped: if one goes back a millimeter out of line, the grooves no longer meet. A hundred and twenty-five centimeters for the chest, fifty-five for the bedside table, and the same work on both. Finishes and detailing are chosen — the gilded inserts and the dark feet are one of the possible routes.
How it is made
The finish is the craft: lacquer and gold leaf are the two steps almost everyone subcontracts, and here they stay in house.

The workshop
L'ARTES
An art furniture workshop in Sambuca, founded in Firenze, in San Frediano, in 1968 by two young artisans trained by the masters of woodcarving. The whole cycle stays inside: the drawing, the unfinished piece, the lacquering, the decoration and the hand gilding. Three lines — Classico, Contemporary and Antica Firenze — and every piece built to the measurements of whoever orders it.
