Drawn and built by hand at the bench, in Tosi.

Three brilliants in a row at the center, all of the same size, and four white gold crossbars set vertically that separate them and close the row at both ends. Two small brilliants are set on each crossbar, one above the other: eleven stones in all. The three large ones have no claws around them — they are set between two crossbars, which act as seat and spacer at once. The shank is thin, square in section, and reaches the setting without widening: on the finger the mounting rises little and the row stays short.

Two grams twenty-five of eighteen-carat white gold. The three brilliants at the center come to twenty points of carat in all, the eight on the crossbars another four: twenty-four points, color F-G and clarity VS. It is the Traversine trilogy in its small size — the same count of stones as the middle model, three at the center and eight on the crossbars, with less than half the gold and less than half the carat: what changes is the bulk, not the design. Twenty points divided by three give three stones of under seven points each, and eleven stones on a shank this thin are counted one by one, close up.

How it is made

The words of the trade, one by one, explained to those who do not know them.

Brilliant cut
Fifty-seven facets calculated so that the light entering from above comes back out on the same side. It is the cut that makes a diamond sparkle, and the reason a badly cut diamond stays dull.

I don't look at what others are doing: I would rather create in my own style. That is what makes our jewelry recognizable.

Made for you

Every ring is made to the size of the person who will wear it: we settle it together before the work begins.

The goldsmith's workshop is also the place where made-to-measure jewellery is created and family pieces are restored: if you have an idea, or something you want brought back to how it was, that is where it starts.

Anna Gioielli

A goldsmith's workshop in Tosi, on the slopes of the Pratomagno: Anna opened it in 1988, her sons Fabio and Francesco carry it on. Piercing, repoussé, chasing and burin engraving — the Florentine school, with the workshop in full view of the shop.
