White gold Square pendant with Princess diamond and brilliant-cut diamond halo

A square worn on its point. At the center a Princess-cut diamond, square as well, closed in a setting that takes it on all four sides; around it runs a square frame of brilliants, four to a side, with four ribs of metal that start from the corners of the setting and reach the outer corners. Seen from the side the mount is a low box, open at the back: from behind you see the underside of the Princess. The chain passes through the top corner and the square runs along it, with no bail; the company states its length, forty-one centimeters.

The Princess at the center comes to ten points of a carat, color F and clarity VVS: F is the last grade in the colorless band, VVS means inclusions that are found only at ten magnifications. The sixteen brilliants of the frame come to thirteen points in all, eight thousandths of a carat each: they weigh more than the stone they surround, and none of them counts on its own. Seventeen diamonds on three grams forty of eighteen-carat white gold. The same setting and the same frame come back on the earrings and on the ring of the Square series, already on display: this is the third piece.
