What it is, and what is in it
Eight and a half degrees under a golden color that doesn't reveal them. The name comes from the Livornese "cinque e cinque" - a chickpea cake inside bread - and the brewery accompanies it with just two words: "Pane e Torta" (Bread and Cake).
The recipe includes sugar, which is the Belgian way of achieving high alcohol content while keeping the body dry. The nose reveals notes of pear and ripe banana, acacia honey, and malty undertones: the pear and banana come from the yeast, not from added ingredients. On the palate, the initial taste is sweet and malty, the body is structured and smooth, and the finish is dry.
Three podium finishes at the Barcelona Beer Challenge between 2017 and 2019.
