I Fiori di Catia — Volume 1

In the city where Catia lives, there are many children. Families moved there also for the large park, which is full of trees.

Right now, some children are playing together. They love to hide behind the Great Oak or near the Old Willow, whose drooping, leafy branches help them hide well. The Flowering Bush is also very dense and can be a good hiding spot.

While everyone is playing, Catia stays near the Goldfish Pond.

She is a girl with bobbed hair, and a face that is always happy and cheerful. Her attentive eyes seem to never stop moving. She is new to the area and doesn't know anyone yet.

As she enchanted watches the reflections and plays of light that the sun enjoys creating on the water, she suddenly hears someone call her.

“Hey, little girl! What's your name?”

And she finds herself in front of a girl with a bold and curious air, who observes her carefully. She almost seems to be staring at her...

“Hello, nice to meet you. I'm Catia,” she replies politely.

“I've never seen you around here,” the other exclaims.

“Oh, yes! I just arrived with my family… It's my first time at the park,” Catia replies.

“Catia, do you want to come play with us?” her friend asks, pointing to the group of friends playing hide-and-seek.

“Thanks, I'm fine here for now.”

Catia, in fact, loves to observe new things and get lost in the details.

“Well, I'm Rossella,” her friend adds with her bright voice. “See you!” and she runs off towards the playground.

Catia then decides to take a walk. Her mother told her that there is a woods right inside the city park.

The wind blows. In early spring, the days are longer. The scent of freshly cut grass is strong and fills her nostrils.
