The little seagull sat in its comfortable nest, among the rocks of the large artificial cliff, watching the waves ripple on the surface of the sea. The breeze, blowing from the land, carried with it the scents of the pine forest and the smells of all the other plants.

Although he knew them by heart, the young seagull always took great pleasure in noticing these flavors.

"It smells of the woods," he murmured to himself. "And Mum and Dad haven't returned from their trip to sea yet."

His eyes were fixed on the vast blue expanse, and his mind recalled all the appetizing morsels his parents brought him every time.

"I wonder what they'll have with them this time!" he exclaimed, trembling with anticipation. "I really hope it's anchovies! I love anchovies so much!"

He was truly fond of them. He had decided in his heart that when he grew up, he would eat nothing else.

His breakfast, lunch, and dinner would always consist of small, sweet, tender anchovies.

Filled with joy at his idea, he stood up and almost danced, flapping his wings vigorously.

He was very happy to be a young and intelligent seagull; otherwise, he might have risked eating less healthy and tasty things.

When he saw his mother flying high above his head, he raised his beak to the sky and burst into a hearty laugh.

"Heh, heh, heh!" he cried with all the breath in his lungs.

A brown crab, which had climbed onto a rock to look for something to eat among the seaweed wet from the high tide, commented amusedly. "Just listen to him! He does nothing but laugh!"

Immediately the little seagull lowered his gaze and stared at him with his yellow eyes.

The crab smiled, waved a claw in greeting, and immediately dove into the sea.

"How rude!" exclaimed the young seagull.
