White gold wave ring with ten alternating brilliant-cut diamonds
A gold ribbon folded ten times: a brilliant in every loop.
Drawn and built by hand at the bench, in Tosi.
Along the top of the band runs a white gold ribbon that folds back and forth without ever breaking. Each curve closes around a brilliant: five loops face one edge, five the other, and the stones stay staggered, one high and one low, like the steps of a wave. Below the ribbon the band stays solid, wide and polished, and the inside is as smooth as a wedding ring.
Seven grams thirty of eighteen carat white gold. The ten brilliants come to eighty-six hundredths of a carat in all: color F-G, clarity VS1, that is, almost colorless stones with inclusions you cannot see with the naked eye. The ten loops have to have the same width and the same height, because the wave only reads if the step stays regular: if one gives, you do not adjust it, you make it again.

How it is made
The words of the trade, one by one, explained to those who do not know them.
- Continuous wave
- A single gold ribbon is folded back and forth, and every curve closes until it becomes the setting for a stone. The loops all have to be the same width and at the same height: if one opens half a millimeter the step of the wave is lost, and at that point the ribbon cannot be straightened cold without cracking.
- Brilliant cut
- Fifty-seven facets calculated so that the light entering from above comes back out the same way. It is the cut that makes a diamond sparkle, and the reason a badly cut diamond stays dull.
I don't look at what others are doing: I would rather create in my own style. That is what makes our jewelry recognizable.

Made for you
Every ring is made to the size of the person who will wear it: we settle it together before work begins.
The goldsmith's workshop is also the place where made-to-measure jewellery is created and family pieces are restored: if you have an idea, or something you want brought back to how it was, that is where it starts.
A goldsmith's workshop in Tosi, on the slopes of the Pratomagno: Anna opened it in 1988, her sons Fabio and Francesco carry it on. Piercing, repoussé, chasing and burin engraving — the Florentine school, with the workshop in full view of the shop.
