Designed, built and finished inside the workshop, in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa.
The piece
Finishing the inside too is the part nobody sees in a photograph and everybody feels by hand. Two meters sixty high by seventy-five deep: the depth of a sliding wardrobe has to be worked out by adding the thickness of the doors that run in front of the carcase, and it is those five or six extra centimeters that decide whether a hanger sits straight or crooked.
How it is made
The finish is the craft: lacquer and gold leaf are the two steps almost everyone subcontracts, and here they stay in house.

L'ARTES
An art furniture workshop in Sambuca, founded in Firenze, in San Frediano, in 1968 by two young artisans trained by the masters of woodcarving. The whole cycle stays inside: the drawing, the unfinished piece, the lacquering, the decoration and the hand gilding. Three lines — Classico, Contemporary and Antica Firenze — and every piece built to the measurements of whoever orders it.
