What is on the stall

In the nineteen-sixties Mary, together with her husband Armando, took the family shop's experience outside the walls, with a travelling van. From stops in front of churches the stall became, little by little, a point of reference in the markets and squares between Prato and Florence.

Today the tradition carries on with her daughters Beatrice and Elisabetta and the rest of the family: four mornings a week, two travelling vans. Viale Canova in Florence and Scandicci come round twice a week.

On the stall arrive the Ricette di Famiglia, slow-cooked at home: sauces, ragù, pâtés, compotes, and lampredotto and tripe in jars. Alongside are the Tuscan cured meats and cheeses, which come from outside, chosen one by one.

The company

Sapori della Rocca. A family delicatessen in Campi Bisenzio, at the gates of Florence, with roots going back to the end of the nineteenth century and to the shop where they sold, poured the wine and cooked. The Ricette di Famiglia line — sauces, ragù, dressings and soups — comes from the family's own recipes. The Tuscan cured meats and cheeses come from outside, chosen one by one: it is the trade everything started from. Every week the family is at the markets between Florence and Prato, with two travelling vans.
