Collection Fiore d'Inverno·Anello
Seventeen grams of silver and two hammered bands that cross beneath the corolla
Drawn and built by hand at the bench, in Tosi.
The flower is a single sheet of silver, hollowed until it becomes a shallow cup and left wavy at the rim. Inside it is dark: the cup is sandblasted and blackened, and the grooves that run out from the center stay black within it, while the edge has been re-polished and runs pale all around. In the middle, in a plain round setting, a faceted purple amethyst; the setting is pierced at the back, and turning the ring you see the color from behind as well. Beneath the corolla the shank is not one: it is two hammered bands that cross in an X and come back to close the circle.
Seventeen grams of silver 925, against the eleven and eighty of its brother with the single shank and the citrine quartz: the difference is almost all down there, in the extra band. The corolla measures twenty-one millimeters across and on the finger covers a little more than the knuckle. The double shank is also the place where it goes wrong: the bands are hammered first and crossed afterwards, and the crossing has to meet straight away, because silver hardened by the hammer allows no second bend. Presentation box included.
Weights and carats as the workshop declares them.

The words of the trade, one by one, explained to those who do not know them.
I don't look at what others are doing: I would rather create in my own style. That is what makes our jewelry recognizable.
Fabio Gori — Anna Gioielli, Tosi
Every ring is made in the size of the person who will wear it: we settle it together before the work begins.
The goldsmith's workshop is also the place where made-to-measure jewellery is created and family pieces are restored: if you have an idea, or something you want brought back to how it was, that is where it starts.
A goldsmith's workshop in Tosi, on the slopes of the Pratomagno: Anna opened it in 1988, her sons Fabio and Francesco carry it on. Piercing, repoussé, chasing and burin engraving — the Florentine school, with the workshop in full view of the shop.
