What you see in the photo is what arrives: painted freehand, it is a copy of nothing and there is no second one. If you want one for your own wall, in your own size, they paint it on commission.
Hand-painted by Marcella e Maria Teresa Lorenzi, in Empoli.
How big it really is
A meter by a meter means nothing on a screen. The outline below is drawn at the panel's real size, and the figure beside it is 175 cm tall.
verticale format. On the wall it takes up 65.5 × 130.5 cm: the clear wall has to be at least that much.
The painting
Sixty-five and a half by one hundred thirty and a half: the tall and narrow format, for a long wall or a stairwell.
Hand-painted artwork on a wooden panel, acrylic paints with a lime and marmorino base.
How it's painted
The wood, the lime, the marmorino, the brush. Four stages, and not one of the four can be done over.
- The panelBefore the color there is the wood, and it has to be prepared: smooth, dry, sealed. A support that drinks badly shows for ever, and there is no correcting it afterwards.
- The limeThe colors are lime-based acrylics — the same material as old walls. They don't sit on top of the wood: they bind to it, and they stay matt.
- The marmorinoThe marmorino gives the thickness. It is what makes the painting change from one hour of the day to the next, because the light doesn't pass through it: it slides across it.
- The brushThe subject is painted freehand, without a template and without printing. It is the stage that leaves this panel without a twin anywhere.

How to look after it
It is lime paint on wood. It lasts decades, but there are two things it fears.
- Not in direct sunlight: lime and acrylics fade, and they do it without coming back.
- Dust it with a dry, soft cloth. No water, no detergents, no damp cloth.
- The support is wood: it fears damp. In a room that steams up, the wall furthest from the source.
On request
Want it for your own wall?
A hand-painted picture is made to the size of the wall it has to fill — which is why a commission, here, is not a fallback: it is the normal way to buy one. The subject, the ground, the format. [mani] paint to order. Tuscany Market Hub follows the request: write to us with the size and where it will hang, we will put it into production and come back to you with times and price.

Marcella e Maria Teresa Lorenzi
Two sisters, a kiln and raw clay. The passion started when they were children and took the serious road at the art school in Firenze; then life closed down a business and brought them back here, to ceramics, with the VAT number reopened and their hands in the clay.
They make two things that do not resemble each other: natural decorations and table centerpieces. All painted by hand, piece by piece, and fired slowly.
The panels are where the trade leaves the table and goes onto the wall: the same lime, the same marmorino, the same ceramic dust as the tableware — on a large flat surface, where nothing can be hidden.
